A day in the life of a Pre-Sales Consultant - Jack Employee Engagement
“To truly grow, rather than just coast through your career, you need a strong inner drive and the ability to push yourself forward.”

Meet Jack, one of the friendly faces behind Enate’s Pre-Sales team. Based in the UK (but often working from anywhere with a strong Wi-Fi signal), Jack plays a key role in helping clients understand how Enate’s orchestration platform can solve their most pressing operational challenges.

We’re sharing Jack’s story to give you a glimpse into what life at Enate is really like and highlight the smart, motivated people that lead change from the inside.

Hi Jack! What do you do at Enate?

As a Pre-Sales Consultant, I help businesses understand how Enate can improve their operations through better process management, automation, and AI. The role spans three main areas: Pre-Sales engagement, solution design, and customer delivery.

Initially, I work with the Sales team to deliver tailored product demos. These aren’t just generic walkthroughs. We really dive into the client’s processes, refining demos to show exactly how Enate can solve their problems. It’s about demonstrating how we can improve existing practices.

Once a deal is signed, I get involved in the implementation. That usually starts with a methodology session to map out how their work is currently being done. From there, I design a solution that keeps things simple and scalable. So the business can use AI and automation to build on it as their needs evolve.

I stay closely involved through rollout and go-live, working alongside the client’s transformation team before handing over to the customer success team.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I love that there’s no strict routine. I work remotely, so I might start my day at home, at a co-working space, or even in another country if the Wi-Fi is good and I can work UK hours. That flexibility has allowed me to travel and still stay fully productive.

Mondays usually start with team catch-ups to align on the week ahead. Then I dive into demo preparation, integration testing, or client rollout meetings depending on what’s required. Some days are focused on technical problem-solving, others are more about communication and client strategy.

Recently, I’ve also been involved in AI R&D projects related to prompt engineering and creating integrations with new systems. No two weeks are ever the same, and I genuinely enjoy that variety.

What are your main responsibilities and who do you work closely with?

A big part of my time is spent preparing demos for potential clients. I work closely with Joe from Sales, but also with Kit (our CTO) and Chris (Head of Customer Success), who often join client calls.

Beyond demos, I collaborate a lot with Ankit, Yathish, and Pradeep - other members of the UK Pre-Sales team. We solve complex solutions together, share ideas, and support each other daily. I also deliver integrations and guide customers to go live with the solution that works best for them.

We’re there to make sure things run smoothly and it’s a really collaborative environment. The support from the team is one of the best things about Enate. I appreciate how much trust and autonomy I’m given, but also how easy it is to get help when I need it.

What does a good day look like for you, both at work and outside it?

A good day at work is one where I’ve made meaningful progress. Whether that’s getting a demo ready for a presentation and delivering it or resolving API calls. I really enjoy collaborating with clients to plan next steps, define responsibilities, and clarify deliverables.

Outside of work, a good day usually includes some fresh air, sunshine, and movement. Perhaps cycling, swimming, or playing a sport. I also enjoy cooking lunch when I’m at home (burritos and noodles are the current top picks) and catching up with friends or family, even if just for a short while.

How does Enate’s customer-first culture show up in your work?

My role is extremely customer facing. Often I’m the first person a prospect meets on a call. That first impression really matters. We take a consultative approach in those early conversations. We’re honest about what Enate can do, and just as honest if we’re not the right fit.

During implementation, those client relationships grow. I’ve worked with the same client teams for months during rollouts, and we usually form strong partnerships. There’s a genuine sense of collaboration, and it’s rewarding to see how much impact we can have.

Can you share a moment you felt proud of your work?

Over the past few months, I led the Enate rollout for several teams at a major accounting firm. It was a great experience, going from on-site training to UAT testing and go-live support. Seeing their change from managing work on a shared Outlook mailbox to a streamlined, efficient system was really satisfying. They now have clear visibility over their workflows and instantaneous reporting data.

What makes Enate different from other software vendors?

We’re not trying to sell our software to anyone who’ll buy it. Our focus is on finding the right fit. Only businesses that will really benefit from Enate. Once we’re in, we work like a partner, not just a vendor.

The platform itself is designed for flexibility. It’s no-code configuration, so clients can own and manage it themselves once we’ve helped them get set up. Such up-skilling is a big part of our value which builds trust over time. We’re not here to abandon our customers after the sale.

How do you structure your day when working remotely?

I like to keep my mornings relaxed and start work by 9:00 AM. My day is organised around meetings, client work, and project tasks.

On sunny days, I’ll work outside. I’ve also set myself up with essential tech, a portable second monitor and mobile data so I can work reliably from anywhere. Later this year, I’m planning to try out the digital nomad lifestyle and I feel fully supported in doing so.

After work, I prioritise getting out of the house. Whether it’s playing sport, going for a walk, or catching up with my girlfriend, friends, or family in London.

What are the benefits of flexible working for you?

The biggest benefit is the freedom and trust Enate gives me. I’m someone who wants to see the world, and this role lets me do that without sacrificing career growth or impact. I’ve never felt like I have to choose between living fully and doing great work. That balance is a rare, major perk.

How do you stay connected as a remote team?

The culture at Enate is genuinely collaborative. A quick Teams message can turn into a productive call in minutes, and everyone is really responsive and open.

Within the Pre-Sales team, we have regular touch points at least three times a week. Not counting client meetings. I also have one-to-one conversations with team members several times a day. Such frequent interaction really helps foster a strong sense of community. The occasional in-person meet ups are always fun too, a nice way to reconnect.

What’s one thing people might not expect about your job?

You really need self-discipline and motivation to succeed in a remote role. There’s a lot of freedom, but to grow and make the most of it, you have to be proactive. You can’t coast through your career and that’s a good thing.

How have you grown since joining Enate?

When I joined, I was thrown in at the deep end. But in the best way. I was hands on with real technical challenges from the start. That fast-paced way of learning helped me develop quickly.

I’ve had amazing support from my team, especially Ankit and Yathish, who’ve always made time to explain things and guide me when I wasn’t sure. Thanks to them (and lots of trial and error), I’ve gone from a complete beginner to someone who’s confident working with APIs, Power Automate, SnapLogic, and even AI prompt engineering. I’ve also improved my ability to present high-quality demos to C-suite executives and understanding of the Enate product and broader business environments we operate in.

What advice would you give someone thinking about this kind of role?

If you’re self driven and value a work life balance, this is an amazing role. You’ll learn quickly, be challenged, and have the freedom to work in a way that suits you. But you need to be willing to take initiative and keep growing.

How would you explain your role to someone outside of tech?

I usually say I work at an orchestration and AI software company. I help businesses understand how our platform can solve their operational challenges, and then I work with them to tailor the solution to fit their specific needs. It’s a mix of technology, problem-solving, and people skills. No two projects are ever the same.
